LOCALISED MIND AND COSMIC MIND

Mind works through the inputs from the five sense organs (Jnanendriyas). It also works through three inner sense organs called (Antahkaranas). When the mind discriminates it is called Intellect (Buddhi). When it brings out memories it is called Chitta. When it reflects attachment to the body it is called Ego (Ahamkara). Beyond the localized mind is the Cosmic mind that is Omnipresent (Atma/ Paramatma/ Brahman).

Inputs from the five senses reflect on Chitta that is filled with karmic baggage, memories of past lives and this life ( Arishadvargas). This reactive mind (based on past) responds to the world in a reactive way. It's reactions are reflections of it's memories and karmic baggage. As we purify ourselves the impurities
(Arishadvargas) melt and proactive mind starts acting. This proactive mind is unique to humans and is called Intellect (Buddhi). Buddhi is the Atmic reflection. At this stage the final barrier for Atmic vision is Ego (mind identified with body). As we become completely pure, we become fully transperent and get connected to the Cosmic mind. This is connection to Atma. This is functioning in Constant Integrated Awareness. This state of Unity is called Realization.

Journey Home - Journey of Water

Waters wherever they are belong to the Ocean. It evaporates and forms theclouds. Clouds rain. The rain that falls in the deserts evaporates severaltimes to rain again and again. When it rains into pools it forms lakes thatremain for a while and re-evaporate. Finally when it rains on the hills ormountains and in Himalayas they form the rivers. Once these rivers are formedthey travel is only in one direction. Whether it is the Ganges, Brahmaputra,Krishna, Godavari, Mississippi, Missouri or Nile, it travels only in one direction, towards the Ocean. They overcome incredible obstacles in theirjourney towards the Ocean.

They are called by different names and during its travel aquire different characteristics of taste and color depending on the soil it travels over. However once it merges into the mighty Ocean, it loses all its varied names and become one with the Ocean. It submerges all its individual characteristics and acquires the characteristics of the Ocean that is the saltiness.

This is also our journey. We are born from Unity that isDivinity, become part of the diversity. We lose our memory of our source (marapu/forgetfulness/maya). We were the hills, trees, fish, amphibians, loweranimals, higher animals in past lives. Just like rain falling on the hills, when we become the humans, the pinnacle of creation, our journey is only towards the Divinity, our Home.

Knowingly or unknowingly we are all in this incredible journey towards home. Since our source is Infinite, we crave for bigger and bigger things, but travel in the wrong direction. These bigger things provide us fleeting moments of joy, but followed by disappointments and despair. Soon through disappointments with our outer searches, we finally turn inwards either through guidance from inner Guru directly or through the direction of outer Guru who points to the Inner Guru.

This is the beginning of Spirituality. This inward searchspeeds up the spiritual journey and finally when the impurities (Arshadvargas)are dissipated and ego is submerged, the pure soul merges with Divinity. This is the end of all restlessness and answer to all questions of life and living. When this happens there is absolute peace, unending happiness (Ananda) and Bliss.World looks to be a beautiful colored tapestry. One feel connected to totality of creation and Universe. One sees the world in new light. This is opening of third eye, Viswaroopa Darshan or Atma Sakshatkar.

After reaching home most people still function in the same world but with a different attitude. There is a paradigm shift in their thinking and consciousness. They still function in this day to day to day world with families, friends and work. They work as custodians of God’s trust to their families, friends and to the society. Their work becomes their worship. These are walking liberated souls (jeevanmuktas). These are a blessing for their families, friends, work and to the society.

Jouney Of Life - Part3: Forgetfullness to Awareness

Our life starts with forgetfulness of our past lives due to MAYA. Our birth is the result of Karmic baggage. Karmic baggage is of three kinds, Prarabda, Sanchita and Agami.

Prarabda Karma is wiped out by going through. Sanchita and Agami Karmas are burnt by Jnana (full awareness).

Constant Integrated Awareness of our true nature that we are one with the totality of creation (Unity) is Realization, Nirvana, Ananda or Bliss. Once we reach this stage, then there is no more birth or re-birth.

The journey that starts with forgetfullness (MARAPU) ends with full awareness of our true self (ERUKA). In essence "Life is a journey between Marapu and Eruka.

Journey of Life - Part 2- "Koham" to "Soham".

This search for home begins with our birth. Our birth cry "KOHAM" meaning "Who Am I" is that question we are all born with.

The answer begins with our first breath of Life "SOHAM" meaning "I Am That" (SOO + HAM). With each and every breath we are chanting that we are GOD. Awareness and experience of this SOHAM mantra is realization.

We have Yantra, Tantra and Mantra witin each one of us. Our body is the Yantra. Pranayama (breathing is the Tantra and the Soham is the Mantra.

Thus one spiritual sadhana technique in sel-realization is listening to the body and it's activities (Yantra - Tantra - Mantra).

Journey of Life

All of us are in this journey called life. Life begins with forgetfullness and ends with
Awareness (realization). This process of life's journey is called getting home. This is also reaching our very source (GOD). Till such time our restlessness remains. We keep craving for bigger things, since our very source is infinite (GOD).

Unfortunately most of us search for our HOME in the wrong direction i.e out side us in the outer world. Pretty soon we get frustrated with the results of fleeting moments of joy followed by sorrow. These ups and downs of life is the very nature of outer life and living. There comes a point in life when we get tired of these ups and downs. It is then that we turn inwards. This is the begining of Spirituality.
